The Difference in Google: Search, Maps and Adsense

To begin with, Google offers many ways to be found: Ad, Map, Search. When a person goes to google and searches “Sneakers”, then any site in regards to Sneakers, shows up on the list of Millions of results. A Google Search Results page is known as the SERP (Search Engine Results Page).

To begin with is the Google Ads and are paid for. But many advantages. You not only get first ranking, but you can have a “Sidebar Ad” displayed as well. Further, Google ads stretch farther than just SERPs. They can also show up in your Gmail as a Sidebar Ad. They can also show up on Youtube as a Banner Ad. They can show up as a Banner Ad on a competing website; Backlink, but a different story. Google Ads are Highlighted in Red at the Top and Right Sidebar.

Next is Google Maps. Google Maps is going to be the meat and potatoes of most of your advertising, In my honest opinion. A person can not only see your link, read a description, but can also see User’s Ratings, as well as the actual location of your business and all presented to the user on an Interactive Map. The Google Map is located in the SERP under the Google Ads and Before the Google Organic Search Results and is Highlighted in Green.

Last on the list is the Organic/Standard Search Results. Do not think that all the above is the only way to bring in leads. One of the greatest tools given to website/app owners is Google Search; Why? Well sometimes some words do not produce a Google Ad and/or Map for Display. Why? The keyword or phrase is just not that popular enough for google to put time and money into it. But again, some Result Pages will not Display Google Ads and/or Maps (try google search for: Speed of Light).

To use Organic Search, SEO (Search Engine Optimize) the site and get listed as the 1st Search Result on the Google Page, or at minimum appear on the first page. Organic Google Searches are Highlighted in Blue. SEO is an animal all to itself. Which is discussed in other post. For now, Just realize that google has many ways to be found. Any of the 3 will work. It is all just dependent on your choice, commitment and time.
